A PhD in Environmental Management is an advance degree focused on environmental science, policy, and management. Its primary goal is to impart skills to enable graduates to come up with sustainable projects of oversee the same. Thar graduates are expected to be leaders in ensuring all development processes, polices and plans meet the sustainable development goals. The graduates also study environmental trends, international treaties and protocols and propose best domestication approaches. Specific focus stewardship, environmental education, consultancies, natural resource management and climate studies
Entry requirements
- A Masters degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Conservation, Environmental Planning and Management, Environmental studies, Forestry, Geography, Agricultural or Applied Biological/Physical sciences, Engineering
- A Holder of a Master’s degree or its equivalent from a university recognized by University Senate.
- A Bachelor’s degree
- Relevant O-level and/or A-Level qualifications
Duration of Study
The PhD takes a minimum of 36 months, we currently offer on research only. Plans are underway to introduce Coursework in the first semester. During the period the student is expected to develop a proposal and participate in IEET postgraduate seminars as well as present at least Six progress reports to graduate school through the Directo IEET. The reports must be signed by the supervisors and accompanied by minutes of the Postgraduate seminar where the student presented.
