PhD in Energy Technology

The program is designed to train scholars, innovators, and leaders who can anticipate and respond to the evolving energy landscape in Kenya, Sub-Saharan Africa, and globally.

Program Overview

The PhD in Energy Technology is founded on the recognition that the energy sector is undergoing a rapid transformation, driven by the global shift towards low-carbon development, digitalization, and sustainable energy security. At its core, the program is designed to train scholars, innovators, and leaders who can anticipate and respond to the evolving energy landscape in Kenya, Sub-Saharan Africa, and globally.

By grounding students in both technological depth, energy economics, energy finance and policy relevance, the program produces graduates who are capable of bridging the gap between laboratory innovations, large-scale infrastructure deployment, and sustainable energy governance.

Duration of Study: 36 months by Research and Thesis
