ESD Leadership development in Teacher Education will be based on an accelerated training framework combining “training-the-trainers”, who will develop ESD Leaders who will then work with others through “learning-by-doing”.

Key elements include;

  • Hybrid/blended training platform and digital training materials (Training of Trainers course, as well as an ESD Leadership CPD Course) and
  • Peer and online mentoring, centered around the ESD Innovation Change Project Model.

Project design

in the SSATL-ESD organizational model, a holistic and transformational approach has been applied from the conceptual design of work activities to providing the necessary data which will drive the subsequent processes across all work packages (WPs).

The project seeks to accelerate innovation in the field of Education for Sustainable development (ESD) including leveraging digital transformation to advance teacher’s competencies for green economies and sustainable societies. The project will contribute to both testing and implementing professional standards for teachers in Africa related to SDG4, specifically target 4.7 through developing model examples in the form of ESD Leadership curriculum innovation Change Projects (ESD-LCPs). https://esdjkuat.jhubafrica.com/
