PhD in Environmental Technology
Tailored toward developing innovative yet effective solutions to environmental problems using technology principles
A PhD in Environmental Technology specialized degree that is tailored toward developing innovative yet effective solutions to environmental problems using technology principles. The programme is a research degree where the candidates come up with a real environmental problem. The gap has to be clearly understood. With the help of academic supervisors’ experience in research in the subject area, students develop a proposal which undergoes a series of checks and once fully developed the candidate is allowed to proceed into research.
Minimum Entry Requirements
- A Masters degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Conservation, Environmental Planning and Management, Environmental studies, Forestry, Geography, Agricultural or Applied Biological/Physical sciences, Engineering
- A Holder of a Master’s degree or its equivalent from a university recognized by University Senate.
- A Bachelor’s degree
- Relevant O-level and/or A-Level qualifications
Duration of Study
The PhD takes a minimum of 36 months, we currently offer on research only. Plans are underway to introduce Coursework in the first semester. During the period the student is expected to develop a proposal and participate in IEET postgraduate seminars as well as present at least SIX progress reports to graduate school through the Directo IEET. The reports must be signed by the supervisors and accompanied by minutes of the Postgraduate seminar where the student presented.
