Tree Planting Ceremony

A total of over 1500 tree seedlings provided by the Department of Botany were planted Tuesday May 25 2010 in a ceremony that boosted the university botanical garden and attended by first year students and lead by the entire university management lead by the vice chancellor Prof. Mabel Imbuga. Prof Imbuga told students present to ensure they took the tree planting message to the entire students’ community in JKUAT so that each student planted a tree within the university. The function was also attended by three officials of HewaSafi an NGO involved in environmental conservation in Africa lead by onesmus Mboya who linked degenerating economic growth in developing countries to environmental degradation rather than bad leadership perse.
