A compendium of books entitled”Architectural Guide: Sub-saharan Africa”

A compendium of books entitled”Architectural Guide: Sub-saharan Africa” was handed over to SABS Department of Architecture. 15 Contributing authors were selected to write on Architecture in Kenya; this included Prof. Mugwima Njuguna and Dr. Teckla Muhoro from SABS, Department of Construction Management and Centre for Urban Studies. The compendium comprises 49 chapters organized sub-regionally into 7 volumes, published by DOM Publishers. It is available on the Publisher’s website and Amazon.

JKUAT members of staff have been appointed to the Management and Leadership Council of the Sustainable Development Solution Network-Kenya (SDSN-Kenya). Prof. Daniel Ndaka Sila was appointed SDSN-Kenya Leadership Council Member, while Ms. Stella Mbiti was appointed to the Management Team as Assistant Network Manager. Architecture Student Gets Honorable Mention at Berkeley Prize

Elizabeth Njeri, a Fifth year Bachelor of Architecture student at Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology got an honorable mention out of more than 500 online essay submissions at the just concluded twenty-second annual Berkeley Prize Essay Competition, whose topic was Civil Buildings. She submitted the essay in collaboration with Stephanie Wanjiru, a Law student at Strathmore University. The duo were awarded USD2500 for their essay ‘For the Love of Museums’. Prof Gerryshom Munala is the new Dean School of Architecture and Building Sciences JKUAT after being elected unopposed during a unanimous vote on February 12, 2020.
