School of Business Holds 2nd International Business Research Conference

Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT) School of Business has conducted the 2nd Annual International Business Research Conference. The conference conducted virtually, brought together over 100 post graduate students, academics, researchers and professionals in Africa drawn from Kenya, Nigeria and Rwanda. SCHOOL OF BUSINESS TO HOST FIRST BUSINESS RESEARCH CONFERENCE

The JKUAT School of Business (SOB)  has organised an inaugural Business Research Conference themed “Contemporary Business Research in the Dynamic Industry Driven by Technology and Entrepreneurship”. The inaugural event is aimed at providing a forum for academia to interact with the industry and the public sector, through research and innovations for societal advancement.  The conference was intially slated for April 23rd 2020, however due to the  COVID-19 pandemic and subsequent closure of university, the conference was rescheduled to August 26th to 28th 2020 as an online Webinar.

The conference theme is broken to four subthemes:

  • Aligning public revenue collection to a rapidly evolving socio-economic environment
  • Innovation, management and marketing in contemporary financial intermediaries
  • Advances in modern accounting theory and practice in modern industry
  • The role of Economics and Finance in a fast-changing in developing countries

The subthemes will be handled by four key note speakers from the industry namely:Dr. Fred Mugambi (Commissioner, KRA), CPA Edwin Makori (CEO ICPAK), Dr. Jonah Aiyabei (CEO CIFA) and CPA George Ototo (Director, KUSSCO. Their industry experience and practice will go a long way in motivating our business researchers in coming up with industry-oriented research that will provide real solutions to our business, social, technological and economic problems in our contemporary Kenya and indeed the world.

School of Business Hosts Professional Courses Forum

 JKUAT School of Business organised a professional courses sensitization forum for the students of the school, Thursday, February 13, 2020. The forum, under the patronage of Dr. Nasieku Tabitha, sought to highlight the importance of professional courses in enhancing the students’ knowledge gained in class in readiness for the job market.
