Dr S. O. Wekesa is a Senior lecturer in the Department of Business
Administration at Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology. Previously, she was the Post
Graduate Coordinator in the Department of Entrepreneurship, Technology, Leadership and
Management (2020- 2023). She was also the Chairperson of the same Department (2016 – 2018). Prior
to her appointment as the chairperson, she served the department as the examination officer (2013 –
2016). She holds a Ph.D in Human Resource Management and teaches several courses including
principles and practices of human resource management, Industrial and employee relations,
organization behavior and management practice among others. Dr. Wekesa has successfully supervised
over twenty Post Graduate students and published with them in peer reviewed journals. All the articles
she has authored can be found on Google Scholar.
Previously, Dr. Wekesa worked with the Teachers Service Commission as Head of Department
(Languages) where she honed her pedagogical and interpersonal skills. She has also taught as a part
time lecturer at the University of Nairobi, Moi University and Kenya Methodist University. She is a
consultant and has helped in training supervisors in several government institutions including Kenya
Pipeline and National Bank of Kenya. She is passionate about leadership and has written journal articles
on servant leadership and organizational commitment. She has also written a module on Psychology of
Human Development that is used for teaching undergraduate students pursuing Bachelor of Education
degree at The University of Nairobi.
Dr. Wekesa is very passionate about helping humanity by striving to alleviate poverty in all its forms.
She sits on the board of LoveInc (Jogoo Road Zone), a non-denominational organization that seeks to
