Departmental Objectives

Department of Business Administration is one of the leading departments at Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture & Technology that the University depends on to achieve some of its financial and strategic goals. To contribute to the overall development DBA has to align itself to Vision 2030 In response to environment analysis, the department plans to undertake the following specific objectives during the next twelve months in line with the University’s strategic plan.

  1. To increase the students completion rate by 5% per ever academic year.
  2. To ensure 100% observation of ISO 9001: 2015 & 150 14001 2015 procedures at all times in all the departmental activities.
  3. To reduce failures rate amongst the students to less than 5% per every semester through application of technologically driven teaching techniques.
  4. To review the existing programmes at the end of the academic cycle.

Over the course of her academic career, she has distinguished herself as a respected scholar, educator, and mentor, consistently working to bridge academic research with practical applications in business and leadership.

Her research is centered on the dynamics of global markets, the complexities of strategic decision-making, and the pivotal role of entrepreneurship in driving innovation, competitiveness, and sustainable growth. CPA Dr. Joseph Obwogi is a Senior Lecturer in the School of Business and Entrepreneurship with over 24 years of academic, administrative, and consultancy experience. His expertise spans Human Resource Management, Strategic Management, and Higher Education Administration, areas in which he has made significant contributions both in teaching and institutional leadership.

Dr. Obwogi brings a unique blend of academic rigor and practical insights, combining his role as a Certified Public Accountant and Certified Human Resource Professional with his deep experience in university governance. He is passionate about developing effective human capital strategies and advancing organizational excellence through education and research.

Dr. Susan Wekesa

Dr. Susan O. Wekesa is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Business Administration with extensive experience in teaching, research, and academic leadership. She has served in several leadership roles at Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT), including Postgraduate Coordinator (2020–2023) and Chairperson of the Department of Entrepreneurship, Technology, Leadership and Management (2016–2018).

Her work bridges academia, consultancy, and community service, reflecting her commitment to developing future leaders while advancing organizational effectiveness and social impact.

Ms. Anne Kaluvu is an Assistant Lecturer at Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT), specializing in Innovation and Technology Management.
