Department of Business Administration Congratulates Dr. Rebecca Maina on Her New Leadership Role

The Department of Business Administration extends its heartfelt congratulations to Dr. Rebecca Maina following her appointment as Director of Linkages at Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT). Her appointment, which took effect on 1st July 2026, marks the beginning of a new two-year leadership term within the Division of Research, Production and Extension (RPE).

Dr. Maina steps into the role with a distinguished record of service to the University. Throughout her career, she has contributed to JKUAT’s growth through academic, research, and administrative leadership, including serving as Acting Director of the Research and Innovation Directorate, Senior Research Officer, and lecturer. Her broad experience has equipped her with a deep understanding of the University’s mission and strategic priorities.

As Director of Linkages, she will oversee initiatives aimed at building stronger relationships with industry, public institutions, research organizations, development agencies, and international collaborators. These partnerships are expected to create greater opportunities for knowledge exchange, innovation, collaborative research, student engagement, and community impact.

Looking ahead, Dr. Maina has expressed her commitment to expanding the University’s partnership network while encouraging staff to actively pursue collaborative opportunities. She also views the adoption of Competency-Based Education as an important avenue for strengthening university–industry engagement and enhancing practical learning experiences for students.
