The Department hosts the PhD in nursing , a programme that has since graduated four cohorts of students with many other students on course. The programme prepares nurses at doctoral level to make them key voices in their areas of interests. We pride in well-grounded research processes that make our graduates stand out to various spheres in their practice. We have a dedicated team of faculty who together work closely to deliver our mandate and that of the school of Nursing by extension. We embrace and work closely with external collaborators who are key in supporting training of our students in the various clinical placements, teaching practice and research activities.

I am a nurse education specialist with a career in nursing education spanning over 15 years. She is a lecturer at the School of Nursing, JKUAT
Fellow of the Royal College of Nursing, honored by the Royal College of Nursing for his contribution in nursing education, healthcare leadership and research in Kenya and East Africa region. He is currently a PhD candidate in International Health of the School of Public Health at Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology. He holders Masters Science in Integrated Service Improvement in Health & Social Care from the University of Edinburgh –UK; a graduate of the University of Manchester with BSc (Hon) in Child Health practice. In addition, he is a Community Health Nurse, Critical Care and Pediatric Nurse registered in Kenya and UK. His special interests are in health systems management, health policy, Quality Management System, clinical research, public health, and healthcare management.
