iCCATS Activities

  • Development of an information system about the entire cycle involved in maize farming. This includes Land preparation, Seeds selection, Planting, Weeding, Harvesting, Storage and Marketing.
  • Development of a system for connecting patients and mobile doctors with GPS capability to improve healthcare by connecting patients with doctors who can travel to the patient’s location.
  • Development and deployment of mobile and sensor technologies to assist researchers to collect, monitor and store agricultural & environmental data.
  • Providing support for cloud and local server storage, analytics, visualization, and sharing of agricultural data.
  • Development and deployment of a knowledge dissemination platform/portal for agricultural data.
  • Development of a web based research information system through which researchers can create their research profiles, upload information on research projects and associated reports/publications.
  • Spearheading the establishment of JKUAT Cyber Security Surveillance and Research Centre
  • Establish a hardware and software testing center (inspection and certification, load testing, stress testing, type approval…)
  • Completion of the TAIFA Creative Space.
  • Grant/proposal writing for connected research and infrastructure.
  • Spotting, incubating and rolling out connected solutions.
