Prof. Arnold Nola Onyango from the Department of Food and Nutritional Sciences has successfully retained his position as Dean of the School of Food and Nutritional Sciences (SOFNUS) in an election held on March 7, 2025.
The election, overseen by the Registrar, Dr. Aggrey Wanyama, saw Prof. Arnold Nola Onyango triumph over his closest competitor, securing a total of 11 votes, while Prof. Julius Maina Mathara garnered 7 votes.
In his acceptance speech, Prof. Onyango expressed sincere gratitude to all those who voted for him for a second term and pledged to work collaboratively with everyone to ensure the smooth running of the school’s programs and activities. He emphasized his commitment to satisfying both the members and students, vowing to ensure that everyone, particularly the students, are happy by the end of his term.
Prof. Onyango also reiterated his dedication to teamwork and collective effort, stating that he would work alongside all members and students to drive the school to even greater heights. He promised the necessary support to help achieve the school’s vision by the end of his term.
“One of my main goals as I resume the office of Dean is to continue working in collaboration with all the members of the department to ensure the success of every plan for our department,” said Prof. Arnold Nola Onyango.
