Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT) is pleased to announce the placement of 7,649 students by the Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) for the 2026/2027 academic year.

This cohort of first-year students, drawn from across the 47 counties, will be joining the university’s five colleges based at the main campus; as well as the Karen Campus, which houses the School of Law.

This year’s intake shows an increase from the 6,865 government-sponsored students admitted in the previous academic year, reflecting JKUAT’s growing academic reputation and its status as a university of choice for students pursuing Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) programs.

The newly placed students are expected to report to JKUAT in September 2025 for orientation and registration.

“We are delighted to welcome this new cohort of students to the JKUAT family,” said Vice Chancellor, Prof. Victoria Wambui Ngumi.

“Our commitment remains to provide a conducive environment for academic excellence, practical learning, and holistic development. We look forward to nurturing these students into skilled professionals who will contribute to Kenya’s technological and economic advancement.”

JKUAT continues to be a top destination for students seeking admission into competitive degree programs. The demand for courses at the university remains high, with popular programs such as Medicine and Surgery, Engineering, Architecture, and Computer Science consistently recording high cut-off points due to limited slots. The university’s strong emphasis on STEM and practical learning pathways has solidified its position among the top public universities in the country for student placement.

KUCCPS placed students based on their performance in the 2025 KCSE examinations. Over 200,000 students who qualified for degree programs applied during the placement cycle, with institutions like JKUAT receiving a high number of applications for their sought-after courses.
