JKUAT among top 10 performing public institutions

Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology was among the top ten performing public institutions in the year 2010/2011. The results released by the two principals; President Mwai Kibaki and Prime Minister Raila Odinga; Monday March 27, 2012  in Nairobi placed JKUAT at position four and nine among the country’s 20 public universities and 178 state corporations in respectively.

The ranking that attracted a total of 468 public institutions including 20 public universities and 178 state corporations is based on a composite score that is computed based on negotiated and mutually agreed indicators and targets.  Accordingly, the University had a score of 1.9116 which falls within the Very Good Category. This is 3.70% improvement over last year’s score of 1.9851.

Receiving the news, Monday March 26, 2012, Prof. Mabel Imbuga, the vice-chancellor congratulated the entire University workforce for their commitment that had seen JKUAT register remarkable performance contracting results. She appealed to the staffers to redouble their effort in an attempt to post even better results in the current performance contracting exercise ending in June 2012.
