Honey Analysis for Ministry of livestock Development Technical staff

Fifteen technologists among them six women drawn from the Ministry of Livestock Development commenced a two week intensive training designed to equip them with hands on experience on the use of modern technology in the analysis of honey and animal products.

According to Mr Willy Mawili ,JKUAT Department of Chemistry Chief Technologist the course is intended to enable the trainees to improve their quality analysis skills in their laboratories to meet international best practices. He further noted that the program had been prepared to enable participants to asses the level of heavy metal and pesticide pollution in honey production .

Honey handling, particularly its storage and transportation is known to be the major cause of its pollution.
