Dr. Onesmus Muvengei has been elected as the new Dean of the School of Mechanical, Manufacturing, and Materials Engineering (SOMMME) unopposed.

 Serving as the Acting Dean of SOMMME for the past two years, Dr. Muvengei expressed his gratitude to his colleagues for entrusting him with the responsibility of leading the school to greater heights.

“I am excited to collaborate and work with all of you. SOMMME has always held a special place in my heart, and I am committed to ensuring its continued prosperity,” said Dr. Muvengei.

He also acknowledged and congratulated his predecessors, Prof. Eng. Benard Ikua, Prof. George Nyakoe, and Dr. Hiram Ndiritu, for their contributions to the school’s growth and success.

With a doctorate in Mechanical Engineering, Dr. Muvengei aims to forge a new path and create a legacy for future generations to follow. During his tenure, he intends to focus on research, innovation, teaching, and collaboration to give the school the impetus it needs to move forward.

In his commitment to serving the school and its strategic objectives, Dr. Muvengei pledged to work alongside the school community to ensure its continued prosperity.

The Registrar, Academic Affairs, Dr. Aggrey Wanyama congratulated Dr. Muvengei and urged him to network with other schools and steer the university to greater heights.  He assured the Dean of the Division’s support throughout his tenure.
