Dr. Mugambi Appointed to the Council of Murang’a University of Technology

Dr. Allan Mugambi

Dr. Allan Mugambi of JKUAT has been appointed as a member of the Council of Murang’a University of Technology by the Minister of Education, Dr. Migos Ogamba.

According to a gazette notice dated 25 July 2025, Dr. Mugambi, was appointed in accordance with Section 36(1)(d) of the Universities Act 2012. He will serve a three-year term alongside other council members.

The University Council is the top governing organ of a public university, charged with providing strategic direction, ensuring financial oversight, formulating policies, and safeguarding the institution’s overall governance. It plays a central role in guiding institutional growth, approving major decisions, and ensuring compliance with national higher education standards.

Dr. Mugambi is a distinguished scholar from the College of Human Resource Development (COHRED), he brings extensive expertise and experience that will contribute to the governance and strategic development of Murang’a University of Technology.

He has held various leadership positions, including Board Member, Midwest Food Bank/KAPU Africa (US/Africa Division) in Nairobi, Chairman, Laikipia County Development Authority (LCDA), and Innovations Director at Kampala University–Uganda, among other key roles.

He holds a PhD in Entrepreneurship and a Master’s degree in Entrepreneurship, both from JKUAT, and Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science and IT from Kampala University.

Dr. Mugambi expressed his dedication to leveraging his leadership experience to support effective governance, enhance academic standards and advance Murang’a University of Technology’s strategic goals.
