Dr. Charles Kabubo Retains Deanship

Dr. Eng. Charles K. Kabubo has been re-elected to serve as the Dean of the School of Civil, Environmental, and Geospatial Engineering (SCEGE) for an additional two years. The closely contested election, held on January 30, 2025, saw Dr. Kabubo emerge victorious in a tightly fought race against fellow aspirant Dr. Thomas Ngigi.

Dr. Kabubo expressed his gratitude to his colleagues for their confidence in his leadership and for re-electing him to continue serving the school. He emphasized his commitment to fostering the growth of the institution while ensuring equity among staff and students.

“I am deeply grateful for the support my colleagues have shown me by granting me another opportunity to serve. This re-election allows me to complete ongoing initiatives and implement new ones. I am particularly focused on advancing the academic affairs of the School, which remains a top priority,” said Dr. Kabubo.

Dr. Kabubo also pledged to prioritize staff welfare, ensuring that faculty members are motivated and well-equipped to deliver quality education and prepare students for the demands of the industry.

He outlined his vision to promote research within the school and establish strategic partnerships, both locally and internationally, to enhance the credibility and marketability of the school’s programs.

While outlaying his plans for the school, Dr. Kabubo highlighted some of the school’s recent accomplishments, including a partnership with the Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) and a software grant collaboration with Irelandas his his broader strategy to strengthen the school’s global presence and academic excellence.
