Prof Muliaro with Maths Teachers Mr Dancan Adongo and Mrs Teresia Kariuki

The unfortunate closure of schools due to coronavirus pandemic has necessitated the need to make this research output public and to contribute towards enabling learning to continue through digital instruments with appropriate local content delivered by qualified Kenyan teachers. Smart Learning Initiatives have proved to be essential for contextualizing ICT in Education and as part of the process of sustainable development. Smart learning reinforces the quality of education, which is considered as one of the most powerful tools for achieving the Sustainable Development Goals.

Prof Muliaro Wafula as the Principal Investigator with his team innovated smart dynamic content in light video format that is easy to play on multiple devices ranging from smart phones, tablets, computer laptops and desktops. The research and innovation was funded by the AFRICA ai JAPAN Project in 2017-2018.

This innovation is now released under open access creative commons license in promotion of open science in Kenya and Africa.  The open access platform can be accessed via link iCEOD Open Access Smart Learning Platform
