On 28th February, 2022,  the directorate conducted a thorough IP sensitization to computing students who were on internal attachment at JKUAT. The sensitization was done at IPIC building in Engineering workshops. The computing students were divided into two groups, computer technology and computer science. Four African universities are among five institutions that have been picked to participate in a continental intellectual property (IP) pilot project, aimed at helping public teaching and research organisations build capacity for developing and implementing institutional IP policy and strategy.
