Staff members follow the service
Prof. Victoria Wambui Ngumi has applauded the JKUAT community for their commitment to ensuring the University’s success. She emphasized that staff efforts have been instrumental in positioning the University as a major contributor in generating a pool of highly qualified personnel in various specialized areas.
“I’d like to thank every staff for their efforts in making the University what it is today. We have accomplished a great deal through sheer dedication and teamwork, under God’s grace,” Prof. Ngumi stated.
The Vice Chancellor spoke during this year’s University Staff Service on Tuesday, April 4, 2023, where she commended JKUAT Chaplaincy for upholding the tradition, which has been instrumental in uniting staff in the goal of dedicating the University to the Lord. The service was based on Philippians 4:19, which says, “And my God will meet all your needs.”
Rev. Samson Kinyanjui delivered the day’s sermon, quoting from Psalms 121: 1-8, and urged the congregation to seek God’s guidance in all that they do, as “He is almighty and watches our every step.”
Rev. Kinyanjui also reassured the university fraternity that God will meet their needs as long as they remain faithful and believe in Him. He also lauded the University administration for cultivating a Godly culture in the institution, noting that, “the family that prays together stays together.”
Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic Affairs), Prof. Robert Kinyua, emphasized the importance of the event in fostering institutional staff cohesion. This, he added, would ensure the institution’s continued growth.
As part of the service, the staff were inducted financial prudence as an important element in maintaining financial wellness amidst the many economic challenges currently facing the whole world. Similarly, the congregants were urged to observe the national values and principles which have since been mainstreamed into JKUAT operational matrix.
