Chair of Department

The ISS Department is responsible for the development and continual improvement of the ICT infrastructure in the University and all the campuses including network administration, hardware assembly, repairs and maintenance, intelligence surveillance, access control, IP telephony, video conferencing/tele-presence, systems audit, anti-virus management, back-up and recovery operations, server administration, bandwidth management, user support/help administration.

About ISS

The ISS department is responsible for overseeing hardware and network operations within the University. Its core functions include the development and continual improvement of ICT infrastructure across all campuses, encompassing network administration, equipment repairs and maintenance, intelligent surveillance systems, access control, IP telephony, and video conferencing or tele-presence technologies. The department also manages network administration and provides user support, along with overseeing bandwidth management and optimization. It is responsible for the implementation of infrastructure projects, including upgrades and system overhauls, to align with evolving technologies and address obsolescence.

In addition, the ISS department handles the repair and maintenance of core ICT equipment and networks, implements disaster recovery procedures in collaboration with other departments, and supervises staff involved in hardware and network operations. It is also tasked with developing specifications for hardware and network components, evaluating technical and financial qualifications during procurement processes, and conducting monitoring, evaluation, and reporting on the overall status of hardware and network systems.
