Embrace Simple and Sustainable Technologies to Reduce Wastewater in Nairobi.

This was to the message by  Prof. Bancy Mati, Director Water Research and Resource Center of Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology  during Kenya Sanitation Conference from the 28th to 31st October, 2019 at Kenyatta International Convention Centre, in Nairobi. This conference with the theme “Sanitation for All” was organized by The Ministry of Water and Sanitation of the Republic of Kenya  with the aim of  providing practical and innovative solutions towards the containment, collection, conveyance, treatment, disposal and re-use of waste water and sludge in both rural and urban settings.

In her presentation, Prof. Mati pointed out that Nairobi residents waste water knowingly or unknowingly and called for introduction of new technologies in water saving, banning of wasteful facilities and implementing programmes to reduce water wastage. She further recommended for according high policy push to changing the wasteful habits and reworking infrastructure to be more water efficient.
