In an effort to set its foot in the Masai Mara ecosystem, the Water Research and Resource Center (WARREC)  is working closely with the Masai Mara Wildlife Conservancies Association (MMWCA) to foster collaboration to address research gaps that exist in the Mara.  This is in partnership with the Soil Water and environmental Engineering Department (SWEED), and the Civil, Construction and Environmental Engineering Department (CCEE). WARREC pioneers Telemetric River monitoring in the Upper Tana

Through funding from The Nature Conservancy (TNC), the Water Research and Resource center (WARREC) is implementing a project aimed at automating river monitoring in the Upper Tana. The project also aims at carrying out biophysical data analysis as part of research inputs, knowledge management and Institutional capacity development (component 3) of the IFAD-funded Upper Tana- Nairobi Water Fund (UTNWF) Project. Bancy Mati, the Director of WARREC, participated in the recent “Water for Food International Forum on Farmer-led Irrigated Agriculture, Seeds of opportunity” which was held from 29 to 30th January 2018, at the World Bank Conference Center in Washington, D.C., USA. WARREC to host the National Irrigation Acceleration Platform (N-IAP)

WARREC to host the National Irrigation Acceleration Platform (N-IAP) WARREC will now be the National Hosting Institution for “The National Level Irrigation Acceleration Platform (N-IAP)”, of the Smart Water for Agriculture (SWA) Programme in Kenya.
