Center Receives phase one  funding from AICAD to implement SRI Project

The Water Research and Resource Center (WARREC) has received Kshs. 1.056Million from AICAD to implement SRI Project entitled ‘Identifying solutions to Key Challenges Facing Adoption of System of Rice Intensification (SRI) in Kenya’. This is phase one  of the project funding which is to be implemented in three (3) years at a total budget of US$60,000.     The purpose of this project is to improve rice production through adoption of SRI by small-scale rice farmers.

The Water Research and Resource Center (WARREC) is leading a project on Participatory Assessment and Promotion of Fog Harvesting for Drinking Water in the Ngong Hills. This is a collaborative project with partners who include the Kenya Meteorological Department (KMD) the Pastoralists Organization for Water and Environmental Research (POWER), an NGO based at Kiserian, and Ped-World, a German NGO.
