The department of Geomatic Engineering and Geospacial Information Science (GEGIS) will be hosting the annual GIS day at the University assembly hall on Wednesday 14th November. This event provides a platform for those in the GIS and related fields to interact and learn through topical presentations and exhibitions on research and projects that are done within and without the department. We encourage all students and members of staff to attend.

Jomo Kenyatta University Geophysics society chapter had the privilege to host SEG honorary lecturer Maria Angela Capello, on 7th September 2018. In attendance were; the chairman chemistry department Dr. Salim Ali, who was representing the Dean School of Physical Science, the patron of JKUGS, Dr. Maurice K’Orowe, the president of JKUGS Ms. Dorothy Kanini , lecturers from the physics department, Physics laboratory technicians, JKUAT alumni and students.
