Academic advising is an ongoing educational process that connects the student to the faculty and the University at large. Academic advising supports the University’s mission of preparing the student for learning beyond the confines of the classroom. Academic advisers represent and interpret University policies and procedures to the student and help the student navigate the academic, Social and organizational paths of the JKUAT.
Each class is assigned an academic adviser. Students are encouraged to seek out information from their class adviser any time they have questions or need assistance. It is the responsibility of the student to consult with the adviser during registration, examinations an other academic relating issues. An adviser will assist the student in scheduling courses so as to fulfill the requirements of the degree program. Nevertheless, it is the responsibility of the student to fulfill the relevant requirements of the degree (s) offered in the department of Horticulture.

Class Academic advisers should therefore provide information and direct students to resources that enable sound career and personal choices. The academic advisers serve as models of professional development. to the students. The list of the advisers is regularly updated and class reps should ask for the advisers to their respective classes from the department chair.
