The Department of Food Science and Technology was ably represented at the JKUAT Expo, 2013 with students show casing cutting edge innovations in the broader areas of Food, Technology and Nutrition. Student innovation projects from the Department excelled during the function. The innovations were showcased in Agriculture category under the theme: Harnessing Technology and Innovation to Attain Industrialization, Sustainable Economic Growth and Food Security. An innovation project titled ‘ Utilization of Jambolan fruit (Syzigium cumini) in fruit based products scooped the first prize in Agriculture category.
