Message from the Chairperson

Welcome to JKUAT, Department of Economics,Accounting and Finance under the School of Business.

The Department of Economics, Finance and Accounting endeavors to train specialized courses right from the Bachelors level to the PhD level. Respectfully, the Department offers: Bachelors of Science in Economics; Bachelors of Science in Banking and Finance; Masters of Science in Economics; Masters of Science in Finance and Accounting; Masters of Science in Finance; PhD in Accounting and PhD in Finance.

The department is endowed with competent skilled professionals in the field of Economics, Finance and Accounting. To mention a few the department houses a Professor in Economics and over nine (9) PhD holders in the field of Finance and Accounting alone, amongst others. This has enabled the department to provide high tactical and practical training in the specialized courses, attracting both local and international students in large numbers.

  1. Hello, I wish to study Masters of Economics in your university. I am a teacher, is it offered in school based program? I did Bed(Arts) Mathematics and Economics combination, 2018 second class upper division from Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology.

    • you qualify to do your masters degree at jkuat department of Economics
      But we do not offer school based programmes, however you can visit the department for more information

        you qualify for Ms Finance. However given your undergraduate degree i would advice you to do Msc. Economics. if interested apply you can apply now for the Jan 2021 intake

    My name is Emilio Macharia, a 2012 graduate of economics and statistics from the university of Nairobi. I have been in banking for 5 years now. Am interested in a MSC FINANCE course at JKUAT.
    Can i qualify for this course?
    Can i get a course description ie. course outline, mode of study etc for a better understanding of the course?
