The construction of the new three- storey Administration Building slated to house the Vice Chancellor and the three Deputy Vice Chancellors is proceeding as planned, with excavation phase already concluded.
While presiding over the official ground-breaking and handover of the signed contract to Columbia Developers (K) Ltd, the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Mabel Imbuga commended the contractor for the progressive works at the site.
Prof. Imbuga further urged the contractor, to keep a tub on the timelines of the construction to ensure timely completion of the building as stipulated in the 18-month contract.
Speaking when he received the contract on behalf of the company, Col. (Rtd) John Gatobu, the Managing Director of Columbia Developers (K) Ltd expressed confidence with his team which he noted, was equal to the task of executing the project to completion as envisaged in the agreement.
“We have deployed adequate human and financial capital together with requisite equipment to undertake the construction of the building”, noted Col. Gatobu.
The new Administration Building expected to ease space demand within the university, will also house a 350-capacity auditorium and basement with parking space accessible through a ramp.
