The College of Engineering and Technology in partnership with Geoid Technologies Ltd with the support of Africa-ai-JAPAN Project office has floated two key and important course on drones. The courses are intended to help trainees on piloting of drones as well as their application in Geospatial Information Systems. The drone Pilot Training is pitted to take a duration of 2 weeks in which learners will be taught Air Law, Human Performance, Navigation, Metrology, Theory of Flight, Flight Planning, Battery Procedures, Radio Telephony and Ground Floor Training. On the other hand, training on Drone Application in GIS will be 1 week long and will entail Introduction to Survey Drone, Flight Planning Procedures, Marking Ground Control Points, Observing Ground Control Points, Data Capture, Data Production and Data Processing.
To register for the courses which shall commence on the 6th of February 2023, the details are as follows:
Minimum Requirements
- Be at least 18 years of Age
- English Language Proficiency level 2 or Higher
- Aviation Class 3 Medical
- Be a member of Staff, JKUAT Student and or JKUAT Affiliates
Charges
- Drone Pilot Training payment is Kshs 100,000
- Training of Drone Application in GIS payment is Kshs 80,000
