The College of Engineering and Technology (COETEC) through the secretariat, is organizing the 2021 Sustainable Research and Innovation (SRI) Conference which will be held on 6-7 October 2021 under the theme: “Sustainable Development Through Innovation, Technology and Industry Linkage”. This year’s conference will be the 12th in the series of Annual conferences which offer a platform for researchers and innovators, both in industry and academia to engage and disseminate findings.
This two-day conference will present a forum for thought leadership, with top-tier presentations drawn from a wide range of fields. It will also be an opportunity for creation of working partnership between the stakeholders of innovation for relevance and increased uptake and commercialization of research findings and innovations.
The SRI Conference was initially a series of seminars organized by the Department of Mechanical Engineering, with the first seminar being held in 1995 under the theme “The Role of Mechanical Engineering in changing industry”. In 2010, the seminars were scaled up to a conference with the theme “Sustainable Research and Innovation” Conference. Since then, the conference has continued to gain an international profile with speakers drawn from all over Africa and beyond.
