The College of Health Sciences is at the leadership position in preparing doctors, nurses, pharmacists, Public Health Officers and Medical Researchers for tomorrow’s many health care challenges. The College undertakes this task by collaborating with other similar institutions and research facilities within and outside Kenya.
The College is in close touch with the healthcare needs of the Kenyan People through active collaboration with the Government both at National and County levels.
Strengths in Health Education, Research aimed at quality improvement and care are brought together. Students are equipped with the skills to provide better health outcomes through innovative learning methods that emphasize critical problem solving and community oriented techniques.
The College has five schools, namely School of Medicine, School of Pharmacy, School of Nursing, School of Public Health and School of Biomedical Sciences.
The College of Health Sciences was founded by JKUAT Senate in 2011 and has been inspected and accredited by all the necessary regulatory bodies for the programs offered. Apart from undergraduate courses, there are post-graduate ones that include masters, doctoral degrees and post-doctoral both coursework and research.
The College currently has a student population of more than 2,400 and offers a very conductive environment for both study and research.
