The COVID-19 innovation challenge came to an end on 13th November 2021 after 9 schools within Mombasa county showcased their innovations to the judges and guests at a grand finale event that was held at Chandaria Hall. the schools were; St. Charles Lwanga High School; Coast Girls High School; Memon Academy High; Mbaraki High School; Mama Ngina Girls High School; Star of the Sea High School; Agakhan High School; and Allidina Visram High School.
Memon Academy high emerged the winners with their innovative idea of an automatic hand sanitizing machine with the ability to recycle the ethanol in the sanitizer, Sheikh Khalifa and Aga Khan High became number 2 and 3 respectively. The top three schools will be proceeding to showcase their innovations at JKUAT Main campus during the innovation incubation conference courtesy of the Vice-Chancellor Prof. Victoria Ngumi and Hon. Suleiman Shahbal.
