On a vibrant evening at Koblenz Hall, the Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology Student Association (JKUSA) orchestrated a night of glitz and glamour that captivated everyone in attendance. The event, held to crown Mr. and Miss JKUAT Mombasa, was the pinnacle of the academic year’s social calendar, showcasing the dedication and creativity of the student body and the organizing committee.
The event was masterfully coordinated by the JKUSA Council, led by Chairman Yusuf Adhan, whose vision for the event brought a sense of unity and excitement to the occasion. Vice Chairlady Shila Otieno, known for her organizational prowess, ensured that every detail was meticulously handled. Secretary General Fatma Hubess managed the extensive communication and documentation, while Finance Secretary Aaron Maingi kept the budget in check and ensured that the financial aspects of the event ran smoothly.
The hall was adorned with elegant decorations, setting the stage for a memorable night. The campus management, alongside student leaders from other universities and a lively crowd of JKUAT students, filled the seats, eagerly anticipating the festivities. The atmosphere was electric, with anticipation building as the event’s schedule promised a variety of entertainment.
The night kicked off with a dazzling talent show, a highlight of the evening that featured a diverse array of performances. Students showcased their talents in several categories, including dancing, spoken word poetry, singing, and rapping. Each performance was met with enthusiastic applause, as the audience was treated to a display of incredible skills and creativity.
The climax of the evening was the much-anticipated crowning of Mr. and Miss JKUAT Mombasa. After an engaging series of performances and interviews, the titles were awarded to two outstanding individuals.
Steve Nicholas, a charismatic 4th-year BSCIT student, was crowned Mr. JKUAT. His impressive performance during the modelling segment, coupled with his articulate responses during the Q&A, won the hearts of both the judges and the audience. Steve’s charisma and confidence on stage were a testament to his dedication and hard work.
Michelle, a vibrant 2nd-year DBA student, was named Miss JKUAT. Michelle’s captivating singing performance, along with her poise and eloquence during the interview, set her apart as a true embodiment of grace and talent. Her victory was celebrated with cheers and applause, as she took her place as the face of JKUAT Mombasa for the year.
As the event drew to a close, the sense of community and celebration was palpable. The talent show had not only provided entertainment but had also highlighted the diverse talents within the JKUAT student body. The night was a resounding success, thanks to the hard work and dedication of the JKUSA Council and the enthusiastic participation of the students and guests.
