JKUAT Karen Campus conducted an orientation meeting for the September 2024 intake of postgraduate students on 15th October 2024. The students appreciated the Campus leadership for organizing the forum. In attendance were a section of post-graduate students, the Dean School of Law, Chairpersons of departments, post-graduate coordinators, and the library representative.
JKUAT Karen Campus offers Master’s programs in Law, Project Management, Business Administration, Procurement and Logistics, Human Resource Management, Leadership & Governance and Finance. Ph.D programs include Business Administration, Project Management, and Leadership & Governance. The programs attract students from different sectors in the country including county government officers, legal practitioners, entrepreneurs, and private sector managers, etc.
The JKUAT Master of Laws program attracted the majority of students at the Masters level, was started in September 2023. The 2024 cohort is the second with JKUAT Bachelor of Laws alumni forming a significant percentage of the Master of Laws programme. The program also attracts diverse legal practitioners due to its unique specializations which align with JKUAT’s niche area. The options are Law and Sustainable Development, Environmental and Natural Resources Law and Intellectual Property, and Information and Communication Technology Law.

The students indicated their confidence in JKUAT’s postgraduate programs, which led them to choose the University for their studies. The flexible mode of learning, including online learning was cited as favorable for the majority of students. In their feedback remarks, they also indicated that they had so far enjoyed their lectures, and appreciated the competence displayed by their lecturers.
In her remarks, the Principal Karen Campus Prof. Hellen Mberia encouraged the students to be masters in their fields of study as well as philosophize their specialization areas. She assured them of the University’s support and guidance during their course of study.
