The handing-over ceremony signifies an event that marks the transition of leadership and continuity of student governance. The ceremony embodies celebrating achievements, promises of future progress, and affirmation of democratic principles.
The principal Prof. Mberia led the ceremony in celebrating the accomplishments of the outgoing students’ leaders. She thanked the outgoing students for devoting their time and effort to improving students’ experience, advocating for students’ rights, organizing worthy events, and fostering a sense of community within the school. The Principal reiterated that the achievements of the outgoing students’ government body serve as a testament to their commitment and a benchmark for current and future student government leaders.
The principal affirms that the handing-over ceremony is a powerful affirmation of democratic principles within the campus. The peaceful transition of leadership reflects the core values of democracy: transparency, accountability, and the peaceful transfer of power.
As the outgoing leaders, led by former governor Brian Onyancha pass the baton and tools of power to their successors led by governor Glen Bravo Mosomi. The ceremony not only presents the transfer of roles, but a renewal of commitment to address the ongoing challenges and explore new opportunities.
The dean of students Mr. Kungu encouraged students to actively participate in campus life and contribute to the institution’s legacy. As the outgoing leaders reflect on their accomplishments and new leaders step forward with fresh ideas and enthusiasm, Dr. Aminga’, the Dean of the School of Law reminded the entire student body of the power of collective effort and the importance of active participation in academics and leadership roles.
