Vice Chancellor Prof. Mabel Imbuga congratulates Kerubo Araka, a fourth year Commerce student, Friday October 28, 2011 who led a team of five other JKUAT students in organizing the E-tatu and Junior World Entrepreneurship Forum at JKUAT in July 2011.
The project sponsored by the Entrepreneurship and Leadership Foundation, a mentoring institution based in Nairobi organised a three days’ entrepreneurship campaign dubbed ‘connecting young entrepreneurs’ that was held by nine universities on 13th to 15th of July, 2011. Over 300 young entrepreneurs, accomplished business mentors and relevant government representatives participated in this historic event.
It was the recommendations presented by JKUAT students during the forum that have been adopted for presentation by Ms. Araka at the 2011 World Entrepreneurship Forum scheduled for November 2 to 5, 2011 in Singapore. The students comprising Brian Selelo (5th Year Mechatronic Engineering), John Mulatya (2nd Year Mechanical Engineering), and Penina Waweru (2nd Year Civil Engineering) were led to the Vice Chancellor by Dr. Mike Iravo, Chairman, Department of Procurement and Entrepreneurship.
Prof. Imbuga praised the students for successfully participating in the forum noting that the team of participating students was drawn from diverse academic disciplines. Prof. Imbuga told the students to be aware of the centrality of entrepreneurship adding that it was a core unit taught to all JKUAT students.
