Vice Chancellor Meets PAUISTI Students

The Vice Chancellor Prof. Mabel Imbuga led other top managers of the University in a consultative and stocktaking meeting with the pioneer graduate students of Pan African University Institute of Basic Sciences, Technology and Innovation (PAUISTI), Thursday, September 12, 2013.
The graduate students currently pursuing various masters programmes at the continental University institute hosted at the Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture Technology, are set to begin their research projects, having concluded their coursework at the fall of July 2013.
Prof. Imbuga commended the students for professional conduct and dedication in their studies which she reiterated, reflected the aspiration of the founders of Pan African University (PAU).
The Vice Chancellor said, the institute had already put in place comprehensive measures to facilitate the students through their research projects including requisite guidance by faculty and funding.
Speaking on behalf of the students, Sambujanga Marreh noted that despite emerging challenges, his colleagues were satisfied with the progress of the institute.  He added that the students were ready to begin their research projects.
Marreh, however urged the institute to review the research fund and make it competitive in order to fully facilitate the students in their projects.  The first cohort will graduate in 2014.
The students were also addressed by Prof. Romanus Odhiambo, Deputy Vice Chancellor in charge of Academic Affairs and PAUISTI Director, Prof. Gabriel Magoma.
