The training which was conducted by safety and health consultants targeted equipped the staffers with skills in primary first aid and quick repose in cases of emergencies. The training also focused on how to handle people during crises.
The trainees will be first aid representatives in their respective departments where they will double up as trainers of trainers (TOTs) on a wide range of common emergencies before getting medical attention.
The acting Chief Medical Officer Dr. Andrew M’mene expressed satisfaction with the turn out and success of the initiative, the first of its type in the life of the university. He added that more intensive trainings for staffers have been lined up.
