Training of primary school teachers on library skills

A one-day seminar on library skills targeting primary school teachers opened Tuesday August 24, 2010 at Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology Main Campus in Juja. The workshop is part of efforts by the University library to collaborate with neighbouring primary schools to improve their libraries.

Part of the University’s community outreach programmes, the seminar brought together 25 participants from a select number of schools with a view to helping them hone their library skills and hence help transform their schools’ libraries are run.

The University library, as part of its corporate social responsibility, has in the past donated books to neighbouring primary schools as part of efforts to boost learning.
