The Centre for Agriculture and Bioscience International (CABI) in collaboration with JKUAT Library organized a training to sensitize staff and students from College of Agriculture Natural Resources (COANRE), College of Health Sciences (COHES) and the College of Pure and Applied Sciences (COPAS) on utilization of CABI Online resources.
CABI is an extensive source of reference in the applied life sciences that includes: biological sciences, public health, epidemiology, nutrition, infectious diseases, tropical diseases, animal health and crop protection among others. It contains over 10 million applied life science abstracts which are carefully selected by a team of experts. This database is updated every week. CABI supports study, practice and development across the life sciences with books, e books, Compendia and online resources.
The Communication Scientist Mr Onyango said his organization would also provide a 30-day trial package to the University to have a feel of its online services before fully implementing it.
CABI has expertise in scientific publishing and international development. In 2013-2017, CABI and Regional Universities Forum for Capacity Building in Agriculture (RUFORUM) partnered to provide access to Kenyan member universities.http://www.jkuat.ac.ke/students-and-staff-sensitized-on-cabi-online-resources/
