Since its inception the School of Electrical Electronic and Information Engineering has played a pivotal role in the expansion of knowledge frontiers in the fields of Power Electronics and Machine Drives, Power Systems and High Voltage Technology, Energy Studies , Semiconductor and Magnetic Materials , Control Engineering and Electrical Installation , Computer Engineering and Telecommunication and Information Engineering.

The School of Electrical and Electronic constitutes two departments i.e Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering which offers two programmes namely Bachelor of Science in Electrical and Electronic Engineering and Bachelor of Science in Electronic and Computer Engineering and the Department of Telecommunication and Information Engineering which offers one programme namely Bachelor of Science in Telecommunication and Information Engineering. These  three programmes are in line with the University Vision and Mission, in continuously achieving scientific excellence through Teaching, Research and Knowledge transfer.
