The Masters of Public Policy Analysis (MPPA) program offered between the Kenya School of Monetary Studies and JKUAT combines quantitative rigor with a focus on implementation and practice. The result is an innovative MPPA program designed for the serious minded students who want to play a leadership role through better policy analysis, program evaluation and successful policy implementation. The MPPA program incorporates the strength in visionary direction with the critical elements of policy analysis. Policy analysts work in a variety of domestic and international settings where they are increasingly challenged to effectively harness the dynamism of markets, the expertise of career civil servants, and the passion found in non-profit organizations. This program provides students with the necessary skills to creatively address the political, financial, organizational, legal, ethical and constitutional challenges inherent in developing and delivering sound public policies.
The program embraces key educational challenges faced by contemporary society and its it committed to address these. Supporting this, the MPPA program is anchored by a curriculum that combines policy leadership, policy analysis and public policy specializations.
This programme is designed to meet the needs of those already active in the public sector policy environments, research organizations or units as well as those interested in a research career in public, social and economic policy.
