Bachelor of Commerce and Business Administration (BCOMBA)

The Bachelor of Commerce and Business Administration is intended to provide students with business, ethical and technological skills required by commerce and industry and at the same time meet the quality requirements of the University. The course is intended to be modular in nature and allow for credit transfer, where necessary, in order to give flexibility to meet the needs of the business sector.
Target Groups
Secondary school leavers who have attained the minimum qualification for university admission and who wish to start a career in business and management. The programme is also open to persons in employment who possess relevant qualification for admissions to a degree programme.

A candidate must satisfy any of the following minimum requirements:
Be a holder of KCSE (or equivalent examination) certificate with a minimum aggregate of C+ and a minimum of C in both Mathematics and English/Kiswahili, OR
Be a holder of KACE certificate with a minimum of two principal passes and a minimum of a credit pass in Mathematics at KCE, OR
Be a holder of an accredited diploma in management with a credit pass that is recognised by the University Senate. OR
Be a holder of any other qualification accepted by the University Senate as equivalent to any of 1,2 or 3 above.
Diploma holders who are credited for Year I are eligible to join Year II. Those not wholly credited for Year I shall be required to take prescribed units for which no credits have been obtained and to sit and pass the prescribed examinations before joining Year II.


Distance learning mode: online application for admission is a subject to verification of certified original testimonials during registration and orientation period done in each semester.


• Distance learning: Online tuition, two (2) online CATs, one (1) sit-in CAT towards the end of semester, and one end of semester examinations.
• Continuing Education: two (2) CATs, sit-in end of semester examinations.




• Distance Learning fee for a minimum of 3 Modules per semester: Kshs 19,750/-
• Continuing Education fee for the First semester: 82,711/-
