As part of the 6th Global Consortium of Higher Education and Research for Agriculture (GCHERA) conference program that opens in Nairobi on Monday November 23, 2009, attended by over 200 academics in agriculture drawn from 120 countries a public lecture has been planned for Tuesday at JKUAT. The lecture titled Rebooting Economic Growth will be delivered by Prof. Calestous Juma US based internationally acclaimed scholar, researcher, author and Professor of Practice of international Development and director Science, technology, and globalization Project, Harvard Kennedy School.

Internationally acclaimed scholar, researcher and author
He recently founded the Victoria Institute of Science and Technology in western Kenya. He is a former Executive Secretary of the UN Convention on Biological Diversity, founding Executive Director of the African Centre for Technology Studies and served as Chancellor of the University of Guyana.
