JKUAT Hosts Stakeholders for an Innovation Roundtable

The University hosted a roundtable meeting at the Hotel International, Nairobi, on October 27, 2010 to discuss the establishment of an innovation centre.

The meeting was attended by Dr. Karanja Kibicho, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Industrialization, Dr. Pat Frain, Director NovaUCD, University College Dublin, Ireland, representatives of JICA, Kenya ICT Board and the Directorate of e-Government, and the members of the University Management Board, among others.

Dr. Pat Frain had been on a one-week tour of research, training and innovation activities and interacted with the staff and student community in JKUAT. The visit offered an opportunity for sharing of ideas and building up of impetus to bolster the innovation process from research and development to dissemination and commercialization.

The visit was organized by the ICT Directorate courtesy of Dr. Muliaro Wafula, ICT Director, following the visit to the NovaUCD in June 2010 with a team of other senior officers of the University.

JKUAT seeks to lead the way in helping the country to achieve the dream of a middle income economy as encapsulated in the Kenya Vision 2030.
