JKUAT students hosted six university students from Australia, Tuesday June 25, 2013 to exchange ideas in areas related to sustainable development that touched on their experiences.
The meeting which took place at Juja Main campus was organized by Global Voices organization and coordinated by the office of the Dean of Students discussed areas such as development approaches, sanitation and water policy conservation in agriculture.
While welcoming the Australian students, the acting Dean of Students Ms. Emma Omulokoli stated that JKUAT was willing to collaborate with Australian universities in various thematic areas. “It would be a great opportunity for our students to be involved in this study. We have many students who can use this opportunity for internship and attachment,” she suggested.
JKUAT students present at the forum were mainly engineering students, student leaders, representatives from the JKUAT Environmental Management Association club and Enactus (formerly SIFE).The Australian students comprised both undergraduate and postgraduate students pursuing different courses, drawn from different Universities.
