Quality Life Actions Team (QUALTE)
A critical mass of students trained to deal with issues concerning HIV, Drug Abuse and life skills in our universities, institutions of learning and communities.
To create an environment on which students can be trained on life skills to handle drug abuse and HIV issues and spread the message to the youth.
There are three things that we emphasize:
Transformation: We encourage the student community to be open to new ideas, experiences, and directions. We believe we are learning from the greatest in the field and with the best and the brightest surrounding us, and we will undoubtedly be challenged to think about new topics or view old topics in a new ways. You never know when something might grab your interest.
Community: We acknowledge that despite coming to JKUAT expecting education, we will leave with so much more. We guarantee that the community of friends and colleagues you will find here is like no other. Everyday we seek to learn from our lecturers and my peers and feel supported by an amazing group of mentors and colleagues. We encourage that we call upon them when you need to — personally or professionally since they will be your best source of support and they will help you make the most of your experience here. We urge all to make the best of community by meeting new people, tapping into new resources, and joining the QUALTE and other JKUAT club communities. The benefits will follow forever.
Development: Like many of our colleagues, have grown tremendously at QUALTE we expect that the transformation and community involvement equals growth. The peer education trainings, Trainer of Trainer Trainings, Open forums and numerous club activities create avenues to servant leadership. If you remember your first day of orientation; Shy, don’t like to speak in class, and never feel like your ideas or comments were “original enough” we dare you to try us. A few months into the semester and you’ll stand before many as an illustration of how QUALTE supports your growth and development.
Here is some simple advice for how to make the best of your experience here at QUALTE JKUAT. First, share your knowledge and skills; don’t keep them to yourself. Second, challenge yourself and your peers on a daily basis. Third, embrace one another’s passions for education, communities and development. Absorb everything. And above all, put God first.
Decisions are being made right now. The question is: Are you making them for yourself, or are you letting others make them for you? At QUALTE we help you walk through some of these tough yet important questions. Are you interested in finding out the answers through fun and interactive ways? We are interested in helping you developing yourself. Join us at QUALTE and learn more about Quality Life!
